Entry # 3 Wall E

“All of the biggest technological inventions created by man - the airplane, the automobile, and the computer - says little about his intelligence, but speaks volumes about his laziness.”

 Mark Kennedy

How many hours a day do you spent with your cell phone or your computer? Do you ever ask yourself why? Is your family happy with your attitude? Why do you prefer texting instead of calling? Most people are worried about new technologies and there development in the near future. Humanity is progressing into a technological dependent way of life. Humankind is gaining technological knowledge, but is our society ready for that kind of future? Wall E, showed us the consequences of misusing technology.  In Wall E that was unquestionably the producers’ message to us. After watching the movie, we start realizing how technology is affecting our personally. We become fatter, lazier, and we have found an easy way out of taking responsibility for trashing our planet Earth.

Nowadays, many people are enjoying all the technological advances of today, but at the same time we are losing the most important thing, human interaction, we are not talking any more, we just care about the last post on Facebook or Twitter or any other website that connect us with many known or unknown people. So many times, we comment on friends’ pictures, but we do not spend a few minutes to call them, and ask how they are doing. We have been consumed by technology. We are losing opportunities to be with family and friends. Most people prefer to go to the gym instead  of work out in an open area.

In brief, we are facing all these kind of problems, but not all is lost; we all have the opportunity to change. Rather than texting “I love you,” say it. While you are out forget about any device, look into your partner’s eyes, and talk to them. Enjoy life, as you are alive. We are robots.  We are human and not technology we every create will be better than us.

Inventor:  A person, who makes an ingenious arrangement of wheels, levers and springs, and believes it civilization.”
Ambrose Bierce, The Devil's Dictionary
